Movies in Review: “Wrath of the Titans”

Did we really need a sequel to the Clash of the Titans? I would say No. Who was honestly looking forward to seeing this movie. I didn’t happen to think the trailer was super exciting, especially seeing Sam Worthington sport a that crazy mullet. His hair was definitely giving me a problem…but besides that, the movie wasn’t that bad.

To be quite honest, it was predictable, and a lot like the first one. We do get introduced to some new characters, as well as old ones. Perseus now has a son, who has only one expression…lol. We are introduced to Ares the God of War played by Edgar Ramirez. I can’t say I liked Ramirez as this character, or maybe it was his wig that was causing me the problem. I really can’t say what it was, all I know is that he was my least favorite character.

I did enjoy the visual creativity, which definitely outdid the previous movie. My favorite sequence was the scene inside the maze building. The camera shots were amazing! There was plenty of movement, so although predictable, it was at least entertaining. Oh wait…I can’t end this review without giving some love to Pegasus…the prettiest black horse with wings that I have ever seen. I love you Pegasus!

This movie is cool. I’m sure you all know what to expect, and it’s not lacking in the entertainment aspect. I did not see it in 3D, but it looks like the graphics could be worth the price…B

I enjoyed this film. It was beautiful to look at, and I fell in love with Kronos (call me weird, but titans are pretty damn amazing any shape or form)

I watched it in 3D, and I wouldn’t say it was ground-breakingly good, but it made the experience for me. Some parts were just fantastic, and some parts were a bit naff.

    Great review.

    • I totally agree with you on the way the film looked. The visuals were the best part of it for me. Like I stated in my review, there were some amazing shots and great movement, which I felt might have been heightened if I had seen it in 3D. I didn’t love it, but I did like most of it.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts Emie!

  2. Hooray for your love for Pegasus! haha.

I wish this one woulda been better. I loved the visual effects too, but I needed more from the story. And what was with Zeus getting beat up and all? he’s ZEUS! eh, oh well.

I agree with you on Ares. I was looking for more from him myself.

    • Zeus was getting his tail whooped a bit much. It was like he had no fight at all in him. Ares was muscling him and Hades throughout the whole movie…lol. I agree the story was lacking, I guess this movie was lucky enough to get me captured with its visual effects. One thing is for sure…ITS WAAAAAYYYY BETTER THAN JOHN CARTER!!! Lol
